About

Arlina Yang

“Every success story is a tale of constant adaptation, revision, and change” – Richard Branson

My name is Arlina Yang and I’m currently studying Communications at the University of California, Davis. I’m passionate about exploring the intersection between marketing and writing, and how they come together to shape the different types of communication we see today.

I’m always looking for opportunities in marketing, public relations, and internal communications that will help expand my skill set and provide a valuable experience to further my passion.

Behind the person

My journey

I came to the United States during my freshman year of high school after being raised in Taiwan and studying in an international school.

My immigration background led me to a deep connection with my Asian culture and native fluency in Chinese. Passionate about representation, I’ve written several articles and filmed videos regarding Asian communities during high school journalism and in an internship with AsAmNews.

Outside of academia, I love exploring new cafes, going to concerts, playing badminton, eating all kinds of Asian food, going on runs, and walking my dog (his name is Lucky!). Fashion is another passion of mine, as I enjoy dressing up, taking pictures, and showing others my impressive collection of jeans (that has yet to be beaten).

Some of my favorite music artists are: SEVENTEEN, Zeph, Sara Kays, mehro, Clean Bandit, Eric Chou, YOASOBI, G.E.M., ChungHa, StrayKids, and more.
